” At the beginning, I learned to sketch and became obsessed and intoxicated with the three-dimensional effect on paper. At that time, staying up late to paint felt like a kind of enjoyment. And this positive obsession has been with me for decades, and my love of sketching has continued to this day.
In 1999, I came into contact with oil painting at the Chongqing Arts and Crafts School. At that time, the frequency of the word “creation” appeared gradually. But I don’t care much about what creation is. The glamour and brilliance of realistic oil paintings gave me a shock that far surpassed that of sketching. My world changed from the era of black and white to the era of color. I feel like a frog out of a well. This vast world makes me feel new and unlimited. ” – Wang Neng Jun ( 王能俊 )
