Paintings by Ivan Slavinsky

Ivan Slavinsky was born in Leningrad in 1968 and raised in a cultural and highly educated family. His father was a famous artist, the head of an “official” art movement, highly appreciated in the Soviet Union; his mother, wasan acknowledged art critic.

They had high standards and did not pay particular attention to the artplay of their son.

Ivan Slavinsky received his first skills as a professional painter at the Academy of Arts, when he attended an art school. Ivan’s father did not immediately appreciate his son’s style, but soon began to notice some zest in his work. He even began to allow Ivan to make his own contribution, that is, to paint some elements on the canvases.

The first works of Slavinsky were designated by critics in various genres. They had no consensus. Some considered them realistic, others – surreal, and still others, at all, attributed them to postmodernism. Why this happened, The reason is simple. For a long time, Slavinsky was choosing an individual approach, and after years he developed his own, special style, which combined all of the above techniques.
