Osamu Obi | Figurative painter

Osamu Obi

Osamu Obi is a Japanese painter who’s born (1965) in Kanagawa, Japan. Obi’s careful attention to composition earned renown while he was still a student at Musashino Art University. Following the receipt of various art awards, he studied in Paris on an Agency for Cultural Affairs artist overseas study scholarship from 2010 to 2012. After making copies of Rembrandt and other artists at the Louvre, his work advanced to a boldly stroked style that maximizes oil painting’s particular characteristics. He continues to create paintings composed of oft-overlooked scenes and spaces.
