Lucie Bilodeau
Lucie Bilodeau was born in Montreal, Canada, in May 1967. She now lives with her husband in the United States, in Massachusetts, where she paints full-time. As a child, as soon as she was able to hold a pencil, she spent a good amount of her time drawing. Then one day, she watched her dad draw a fish from memory, and marveled at what he was doing, and how beautiful the drawing came out. This took her interest in drawing to a new level. She expressed her first serious interest in art when she was seven years old. When she was 14 years old, her parents paid for her to take classes at Mission: Renaissance School in Montreal, Canada. She took courses that taught her traditional fine art skills, including an in-depth study of the masters: Rembrandt, Monet, Manet, Cézanne, Fantin Latour, and others. A teacher at this school once showed her a book showcasing the wildlife paintings of contemporary artist, Robert Bateman. Lucie loved his work and decided to channel her talent toward wildlife. “Since many of us have a very busy and often stressful life, it is important for me to bring the calming and rejuvenating effect of nature into people’s lives through my artwork.” Many of Ms. Bilodeau’s works can be found in corporations and private collections around the globe, including England, France, Russia,
