Delphin Enjolras (Coucouron, May 13, 1865 – Toulouse, 1945) was a French academic painter. Enjolras painted mainly landscapes in his early career; later it became evident that his love was for painting women. He changed genres, focusing mainly on the portraiture of elegant young women by either lamplight or black lighting. He would become an excellent painter of nudes, and many of his later works, such as “La Sieste” are of an erotic and sensual nature.

Born in Amiens in 1968, Nathalie Picoulet began a career in portrait paintings in 1993. Nathalie Picoulet studied at The University of Plastic Arts and followed higher education of drawing at L Ecole Superieur of design in Amiens. “My interest in the nude, draped and dimly lit, was born out of my special interest in Italian painting,” says French artist Nathalie Picoulet of her pastel painting interests. “Especially Leonardo da Vinci.
