Elena Khmeleva, who is also known as Yelena Khmelyova, was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1966. In 1986, she attended the Saint Peteresburg Academy of Fine Arts graduating with exceptional grades.
In 1992, she studied for a year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany. She currently lives in France and has exhibited her work widely in England, France and Belgium. Her paintings are part of the collections of some major museums, such as the Russian Museum, the Bridgement Art Library, the history museum of Saint Petersburg, the Galerie N.B. in Paris.
Elena Khmeleva masters the pictorial technique to perfection and her style is a mixture of classicism, cubism and impressionism. Her work combines the best traditions of Russian art and the school of European painting.
