Emil Mlynarcik is a contemporary Slovak painter. He was born in 1960 in the village of Vernár (Slovakia). His paintings with the theme of landscape and still lifes, show our everyday life, but also retreating the magical forest, rural wooden houses and old districts disappear.

There is no expedition to dream, or exotic in imaginative fields, extravagant, and under all circumstances particularly shocking molding compounds and color combinations. His pictures are the brave, realistic works of the painter and also human things, and the natural objects on them are those taken from life and reality. The oil paintings speak in simple language and speak for themselves. Needless to say or explain something.

“ I have lived all my life in a picturesque mountain village surrounded by the high peaks of the Slovak high mountains of the High Tatras and deep mystical coniferous forests. I love to wander through this unspoiled nature for days and collect subjects for my paintings. For decades I have been trying to translate the absolute perfection of nature into relative painting perfection. I paint not only with my hand, but especially with my soul. My paintings may not need to be explained and described too much – they speak for themselves.
